Termination of my sky contract

  • I have been a customer of sky for over 30 years and have never had a problem I have now had to pay for a funeral I wasn't expecting and have written to sky asking if I can pay my outstanding amount of over £300 on the 28 th of this month I haven't had a reply just a message today asking to send back there equipment I'm not back home until next week as I'm abroad trying to manage this death will they be willing to  wait till then or have I got to give up sky thank you for your help my e mail address is different now so don't know if I have messages from them my e mail address is now as I have mentioned above and haven't rang cause I can't get a signal did send sky a letter before I had to come back out here 6 weeks ago

Can you help with a e mail I have regarding having my sky account cancelled I have written to sky over 6 weeks ago regarding my circumstances and won't be back to pay this bill until 28 th may I haven't had a reply only saying they are terminating my account which I have had for over 30  years and I'm abroad sorting out a funeral and costs which I didn't expect lease can you help me

I'm not sure if you are aware but this is a place where customers help each other so you are not talking to Sky.

 

Sky are within their rights to terminate your account if a bill hasn't been paid for 56 days or more so is this what has happened here ?

 

Regarding the equipment, do you have a Sky+ box (where you have posted on here) because if you do then it does not have to be returned to Sky as you own it. All other equipment does have to be returned so just make sure you do this when you return as this link will help you to do this:

Add a note inside with your account number and a list of equipment you have included.
Make sure you get and keep proof of posting when sending this off.
