SkyHD+ satellite not working
New smart tv with old Sky+ box. Has been working perfectly for a week then suddenly I'm getting a blank screen on some channels, including live news channels saying SkyHD+ isn't getting a satellite signal. All cables seems ok, and don't understand why I can get some channels if I'm not getting a satellite signal. Any help or explanation would be very much appreciated.

Re: SkyHD+ satellite not working
I'm afraid Sky no longer support Sky+ and Sky+HD set ups (where you've posted).
You'll need to employ a local satellite engineer at your own expense to; check / realign / repair / replace the dish, perhaps repair or replace the LNB if that's the problem, or check the cables for water ingress.
If you have Sky Protect cover through Domestic and General Insurance you can call them but a customer previous posted on here stated they wouldn't send an engineer - but they did offer the customer £65 towards arranging one themselves.
The alternative is contacting Sky to upgrade to Sky Q or change to Glass / Stream.

Re: SkyHD+ satellite not working
@P22 it's not unusual to see a 'no satellite signal' on some channels while others are ok. The cause is most likely a fault with your dish or cables - either a failing LNB, if it's 5 years or more old, or a slight dish misalignment. Unfortunately Sky no longer provide engineer support for Sky+ equipment unless you have Sky Protect, so you'll need to contact a local satellite engineer to take a look.
Alternatively now might be a good time to consider upgrading to Sky Q. Any dish or cabling issues will be addressed as part of the Sky Q installation at no additional cost to you.

Re: SkyHD+ satellite not working
Hi, first of all thank you for your responses to my post. At that time I still had access to my recordings but since I rebooted (again) as it then recommended it has been stuck in initializing mode (for hours!) and I can no longer access my recorded programmes. I tried rebooting again but to no avail and it still says it's initializing. I had ordered a Sky Q box but it won't arrive till January. Not the best start to Christmas! Any advice please?

Unfortunately successful initialization requires a satellite signal, and for that you'd need to pay to have the dish checked.
If you have access to a Windows or Apple computer or laptop (and a few Mbs of broadband) then you could output Sky Go to the television set over HDMI cable.
Alternatively a new smart television may well host the NowTV app, so a short term subscription to that might tide you over.
