So I have the Sky+HD box in contract til end of 2024.
Recently noticed not able to record BBC 1 on box (but able to record BBC 2).
Call to sky said to do system rebuild but if that doesn't work may need further software assistance.
Did rebuild which did not work then got email stating will no longer get software changes.
Does this mean that Sky are breaking the contract by no longer allowing me to access services / record such channels? Will I be able to leave sky whilst in contract with no fuss / charges due to me not wanting the Sky Q ( appears that this is what they are forcing people to upgrade to)?

No, there's a fault with your Sky box.
You say the Planner Rebuild didn't work. Do you mean it didn't complete successfully. Or it didn't make any difference?
Does the red recording LED light when you try to record BBC1? Is the recording listed as FAILED in your Planner? If so, highlight the failed recording and press i on your remote. Tell us what the failure message shown on screen says.

Hi.
I do not have a problem recording any other channel. It is only BBC 1 WM HD.
I am not able to record. Message I get is Failed Rec: Technical fault - 10(28).
I am also not able to pause or live rewind. Again all OK on other channels its only affecting BBC 1.
I have tried the rebuild but nothing has changed.

Are you able to watch BBC One live, and it's just recordings that don't work?

Yeah I can watch BBC1 WM HD as it airs but not able to pause ( say to go to make a drink) or rewind ( if I missed something). Can do this on all other channels.

Hi
Signal strength is full on both inputs.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreTechnical fault 10s are usually Planner related, generally resolvable via a Planner Rebuild. There's not much else you can try apart from a full System Reset which, as part of the process, will erase your recordings. That might fix it.
You could call Sky, but almost certainly they'll tell you that you need to upgrade to Sky Q..

Yeah. I've just been on the phone to them. Tech bloke tried sending signal to card .. did not fix issue. Then told they will send me a new box... turns out he was referring to a 2nd box which I'd have to pay extra for. Then the tech person told me in future all BBC channels will be removed / won't be able to get with the Sky HD+ box.
I think they are trying to force everyone off this type of box and onto SkyQ ... both SkyQ and Sky glass will still get all BBC channels.
I have a magic eye & sky say that won't work on the SkyQ.
