Sky+ box no bbc channels

Sky+ box showing on screen error 'No Signal' but only on BBC 1 BBC News channels and CNN news. All other channels normal and Settings-Signal show all inputs strong and locked.   All fault finding as per online help followed.   No Joy. What is wrong here?

I assume that's no satellite signal. If you've tried restarting by switching off at the plug for 4 minutes without success, there's a fault most likely with your dish setup or rainwater in the cables.

Unless you have Sky Protect, it would be best to book a local satellite engineer to investigate for you.

@djcmalvern1 Presumably, that's 'No Satellite Signal'?

Just to clarify, when tuned to one of the affected channels, all four white bars on the Signal page should be at least half way across.

I get all 4 input lines in checking Signal for all chanels except BBC channels.  In their case the Input 1 lines are blanked and Not locked.

"No Satellite Signal" usually indicates an issue with one or more of the following:

• The Dish is misaligned
• The Tuners in the sky box
• The input sockets on the Sky box
• The plugs on the cables
• The cables themselves
• The Sockets on the dishes LNB
• The dishes LNB has gone faulty for the connections the box is using

You may have to call out someone to check your system, another option is to move to Sky Q as during the move all issues will be resolved as part of the install, there is also the option of Sky Glass or Sky Stream if you want to move away from satellite TV and use the Internet

Thanks Annie, a move to sky stream may be on the cards as they have just installed Full Fibre on my street. 1Gb (nearly) bandwidth. 😀

Be sure to research Sky Stream carefully before you buy. It's not the same as Sky+, a major difference being that there's no local recording. Check also the channels you receive.
