We are moving to a bungalow that currently does not have Sky. We would like to know if it would be possible to put the Sky Box in the loft and bring the cables down to a wall mounted tv below?
Are Sky engineers happy to install a Sky box in a boarded loft with power?
How many cables would we have to run to the power source in the loft - one for the tv plus how many for the Sky box - are there any other issues to bear in mind?

It depends on what type of Sky box you are planning on having.
A Sky Q box is quite big and needs a lot of space around it to prevent overheating so would need to be in a large, well ventilated alcove if you wanted to place it behind a TV. It would also need the cabling from the satellite dish to be fed to that alcove which may well be beyond the scope of a Sky engineer.
A Sky Stream puck is a lot smaller and can be placed behind a wall mounted TV, but it is not recommended. It also needs some ventilation and needs to be able to receive a fast and stable broadband signal in order to function. Being placed behind a TV doesn't exactly allow this to happen easily, unless you opt for an ethernet connection - but that's another cable.

I agree. Panel TVs are pretty good at obstructing wifi.
