Card inserted, but saying no card or should be face up

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreTurn the box off at the plug and remove the card. Wipe the gold contacts side with a soft dry cloth. After 4 minutes restart the box and put the card back. If you get the same message, either the card will need to be replaced or the card reader in the box has developed a fault, and the box will need to be replaced.
