Remote saying Battery needs replaced

• have sky +HD tried rebooting with allow me to change channels but won't let me control volume as I on keeps saying replace batteries which I did even got another remote brand new same thing 
• Anybody have any Ideas to resolve thanks getting a bit hacked off with it

Odd. Is  this the on screen message saying you need to replace the batteries? Does it only appear when you try to control the TV volume?

Are you using standard alkaline batteries, not rechargeables?
