The bars nearly filled white? Does it remain like that? Or do the bars turn blue after a while?

@DawnyD22 looks like you have a problem either with your dish setup or, less likely, your Sky box. Unfortunately, Sky no longer support either, if you're a Sky+ customer and don't have Sky Protect. Are there trees in the line of sight of your dish that might be moving in the wind to cause an intermittent blocking of the signal?

You could arrange for a local satellite installer to take a look for you, but if it does turn out to be an issue with your Sky box, that won't help, of course. A replacement Sky+ box would be of no use, as your Viewing Card is locked to your current Sky box.

All said, it might be time to consider upgrading to Sky Q. Any dish issues will be sorted out at no additional cost as part of the Sky Q installation.

Re: Picture disturbance

I am actually upgrading to a sky q box in a couple of weeks. There are no external disturbances affecting the dish so it is either the dish itself or possibly the input cables as I did notice they are not in tight but I can't sort it myself due to dexterity issues. Just find it odd that that the issue comes and goes. Guess I will have to be sky free until the new box is installed. Will they def check the dish if there is no signal on new box?

Yes, they will. The dish has to be updated with a different LNB for Sky Q, so they'll check that all is well.
