Our sky+ has a hard drive problem so we can’t use catch-up or planner.

I followed all the instructions to no avail.  It looks like they want me to upgrade to SkyQ but I don't need that as have Netflix etc on my smart TV.

You don't have to take a package that has Netflix on it because if you are on the Signature one that does not give access to Netflix then you can stay on that if upgrading to Sky Q.

Alternatively, there are used Sky+HD boxes available to buy cheaply on ebay etc. Look for a DRX890 or DRX895 model as they're the most recent, and don't pay more than £30 or so.
