Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

For info, our Sky 2TB box has always been wired yet only experiences the problem with the technicolor not the PlusNet Hub 2.

I have a feeling Sky are ignoring this issue.

It's connected via ethernet to one of the mesh wifi discs.  Still has the problem.

They have my wireshark trace and have said they can see network anomolies in it. So hopefully this will lead to a fix.

I meant directly connected by Ethernet to the hub, to remove wi-fi from the equation

Are you on BT Internet like the person I'm replying to?

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

@Annie+UK it works connected via Wi-Fi directly to the router if I move it to the same room so suspect it would work via  cable.

I appreciate that you're offering a valid solution but unfortunately I don't fancy buying and laying 50m of cat5 cable through the house just to connect the sky box to the router.

@Annie+UK  My ISP is Plusnet. However they are owned by BT and like all non Virgin ISPs's use Openreach infratructure.

Unfortunately, I don't see that Ofcom would be interested when Sky have offered to replace your old legacy Sky+HD box with the current Sky Q box. It matters not that you don't want Sky Q (neither do I), but it does matter that Sky have offered a solution.

In addition, Sky say that they are still trying to fix the issue.

That would be for Ofcom to decide.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Sky have been "working" on this for months ! During which they have continued to charge customers for a service that they are not receiving,

Sky is using it's performance in the Ofcom complaints stats to advertise their business. They cleary see business benefit in their current standing, so it is incombant on us to complian which we will drive them to finally resolve this issue.

<snip>

Sky say Sky Go is provided at no additional cost to its customers, thus you are not charged for it in your subs

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Have Sky actually offered to upgrade affected any existing customers for no additional charge? Ie install equivalent sky q for existing customer including 2tb boxes if appropriate and mini boxes?  I haven't seen anyone saying that, and currently the earliest you can get sky q installed at the moment is 6 weeks away,
