Suddenly getting error message that viwing card is not correctly inserted. But I have no card! (I have checked this in settings). Turning off and on gets rid of message but only for a few minutes

All Sky+ boxes have a Viewing Card. It may be concealed under a pull-down flap to the right of the front panel. Try removing the Card and wiping it with a dry fluff-free cloth, before re-inserting it.

I can only repeat that all Sky+ boxes have one (except possibly if you don't have a Sky TV subscription).

I'd suggest giving Sky a call to request a replacement Card (they'll almost certainly try to persuade you to switch to Sky Q or Stream so be prepared!).

If a replacement Card doesn't resolve it, the fault most likely lies with the Card reader inside the box. Unfortunately you can no longer replace the box so an upgrade would be your only solution in those circumstances.

You might find some notes here, created by @nigea99, on upgrading from Sky+ to Sky Q helpful

hi @anniec

As @Mark39 says SKy may encourage you to switch to SKy Q, in which case, you may wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
