No satellite connection

No satellite connection. 2nd tv shows no satellite connection. I have rebooted, reconnected/resd and applied internet connection. On going back to tv the same message appears. I have gone to source where player 3 is showing and applied HDM1 but it reverts back to player 3. I have applied new batteries in remote.  As our main tv has no problem it would seem there is an issue with our mini box. I have rang 2 of your helpline numbers and got as far as hi lighing settings on my tv and have said CONTINUE as instructed may times to get no further.

I would like an engineer to visit us with a view to a replacement mini box/sky + box.

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy/obsolete service that Sky are replacing with their newer services: Sky Glass, and/or Sky Stream.

Satellite TV is on its last legs and is being replaced due to the lack of any new satellites being launched to replace the existing ones that are at the end of their service

There are NO replacement Sky Plus boxes!!!

You've mentioned Sky+ and a Mini box together. Sky+ doesn't have Mini boxes. Sky Q does, Do you have Sky Q?

The Sky Plus wifi box is called a mini box, which is confusing 🙂

Re: No satellite connection

My Sky+ HD does not have a wifi box, does it????? I thought it just connected to dish and worked. It has done this for many years with no problems. Suddenly, this wekend, it stops for all of us at once. Why cant you sort it? Why should I be forced to upgrade to a new system, when the system i had worked really well until your issues this week??

And stop telling us to "just reboot"..... as we know this is not fixing Sky+ users and only fixing Sky Q users.

I have the optional Sky Plus wifi box that uses ethernet and there is another that is USB,  these allow On demand content, the early boxes didn't have builtin wifi so needed an external boc to provide it

Re: No satellite connection

So.... do we know of any "fix" for a Sky+HD user that has a Sky+HD box only, connected correctly to a disk which is still pointing exactly the same as it always has, yet getting "Your Sky+HD box isn't getting a signal".

Obviously powering it down for 30 minutes (complete unplug) and restarting gets the same results over and over.

I cannot find anywhere on the internet where Sky have actually explained the issue and how long they expect it will take to fix the issues. All I can see is "The issue has been resolved"...... which it obviously has not. Help!!!!!

As far as I know the issues over the weekend only affected Sky Q boxes and has now been fixed. A 'No Satellite Signal' on a Sky+HD Box could be caused by a number of things. If a reboot hasn't worked, you would need to employ a local satellite engineer to check your dish, LNB and cabling as Sky no longer support your system.

Alternatively, speak to Sky about switching to Sky Q or Sky Stream.

Re: No satellite connection

Yes, I read other Sky+HD users are seeing exactly the same as me. Yet, Sky only offers an UPGRADE as the solution for us users. Maybe they are not issuing a fix or advice because they want us all to switch to Sky Q. (Which they will do at an additional monthly cost - surprise surprise).

If you look at DownDetector, you can clearly see that the Sky Q users are now fixed (as the level of reports has halved), yet the level of users still saying they are down are still coming in and are the remaining Sky+HD users.

I just want a fix - as do others in other forums across the web.

Re: No satellite connection

I suspect your replacement box will show the same "No Signal" as we are all seeing. I spoke to a local satelite engineer and he said it was pointless coming to see my units, as issues with Sky signal since Friday, and not my home set up. So now have nowhere to go as Sky provide no support and engineers will not come.

Tried to get an upgrade to Sky Q, but going round and round and "why do I need Multi-room at £15 extra per month" when I only have one room needing Sky. There is no way to select "no multi-room".

Sky i horrid. I am now looking at other providers.

@GregB1 Sky say the 'no satellite signal' error has been fixed. If you're still seeing the error, try restarting your Sky box by switching off at the plug for 4 minutes, rather than the 30 seconds recommended for Sky Q.

To switch to Sky Q, give Sky a call. They'll be able to deselect Multiroom.
