Long time customer

My dad has had his account for 22 years - Sky + w/ Variety pack - and as a thank you for his customer, his bill has increased twice in the past 2x years...

I hear his package will be phased out soon but he's a Pensioner in his 70s and I'm not sure he'll get used to Sky Q, not to mention the others...

€50.80 pm for what seems to be majority free to air channels just feels extortionate. Has anyone made a similar switch? Or switched on behalf of an elderly relative?

Variety is a legacy package for which your dad will be paying over the odds. If Sky will permit it without upgrading to Sky Q he'd be better off switching to the current Signature package.

As that's presumably ROI, have you considered Saorview or Saorsat?

Sky doesn't have to offer discounts on anything, and particularly not platforms they are trying to get rid of.

What is the difference between Variety Package and Signature Package?

@Linda541

Variety is an old discounted package, Sky Signature is the basic package than included access to Sky Boxsets as Variety doesn't.
