Please be aware of an ongoing issue, where the Sky Sports red button doesn't launch on older Sky Boxes.
Our teams are currently looking into it and we'll provide updates in due course.
The issue has been reported in the following forum threads:

Hi @Armoury,
Rebooting the box should fix the issue.
Update: Affected customers have reported that rebooting doesn't solve the issue and out tech teams have reopened the case. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Have found my way to this thread from another thread which has been reporting the same problems. I can view the footie from the Sky Sport App on my phone but it doesn't appear to want to be cast to the TV via Chromecast in order to make it watchable. Is this correct or am i doing something wrong?
The red Button problem has been ongoing for over 1 month. I used it on 20th and 21st August with no issues.
Since then its been unusable.
Surely somebody can give an estimated time when this issue will be resolved.
Somebody or something must have been changed to stop it working. Its difficult to believe that the problem is taking sooooo long to solve.

There are plenty of secondhand cheap DRX890 & DRX895 boxes from people who have upgraded to Sky Q, these boxes are the only Sky+HD models still being supported with software updates

Thanks for your reply. Are these boxes guaranteed to sort out the Red Button problem? If it doesn't then I would be wasting my money.
Thanks

I suspected that was the case. That would have been an easy solution for watching .

Regarding red button fault , if this is a design issue and was a car or even a washing machine there would be a recall . Why are Sky not looking after its customers ??

Agree with your comments on recall , but my boxes are only 6 years old , and I’m wondering if I have a system failure rather than a box failure as two boxes on different sets won’t work ??
