H
Can anyone give advice on packages for my elderly father?he has a fancy tv with all the apps ect but has no clue... so is using an old sky +hd box to access the old familiar tv guide.. he doesn't actually pay for any sky package just using it as an areal type thing for freeview type channels ( forgive me as I'm also technically challenged 🤣)
I want to get him more Chanel's so looking at the ultimate package with sports & cinema .. my question is will these be available on the old fashioned tv guide he's used to if we just keep his old box?

Re: H
Sky haven't offered Sky+ deals for a couple of years now and it's no longer supported by Sky.
You and your Dad need to research alternative TV options if he wants to stay with Sky. At present this would be Sky Q or Stream (discounting Glass as you say he has a fancy TV).
Sky Q is still available to upgrade to but can't be ordered online - only by calling Sky.
I will cc in one of the other Superusers who has compiled a very helpful guide for those thinking of transitioning from Plus to Q which may provide some insight into something you and your Dad hadn't considered...

Re: H
hi @Mylee15
As @Daniel0210 says you may wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
As mentioned in the notes the SKy Q User Interface is fairly different to the old simplistic "it just works" UI of SKY HD.
SKy Q uses the Satellite dish.
SKY Stream that @Daniel0210, that also mentions is provided only by streaming over the internet, & its UI is more like other streaming platforms .
