Certain channels not working sky +

Hi, all of a sudden itv channels and channel 5 not working on sky +, it says not locked on input 2 indicator, I had a live chat and they said it's a faulty cable, but they just keep insisting on me upgrading to sky q, and that they can't send anyone but I can arrange a visit online, seems odd, should I just upgrade??

@Confused34 Sky no longer provide engineer support for Sky+ systems as they're obsolete. You could engage a local satellite engineer to sort it out for you, or upgrade to Sky Q, when any dish/cabling problems will be fixed at no extra cost to you,  as part of the Sky Q installation

If you feel comfortable having a go yourself, carefully unscrew the two satellite cables going into the back of your Sky box and swap them over, carefully so as not to bend the central wire. 

See if that fixes it or, if it doesn't, see if the problem has now switched to Input 1.

PS Turn the box off at the plug before starting.
