Broken Sky HD box
My mum's Sky HD box is not working there's no power on it at all, Sky have told me they no longer supply these boxes so I bought a reconditioned one but when I opened it there is a warning saying that Sky no longer let you transfer your Sky card to other boxes. My mother is far to old to get used to a different box and it feels like older people who have been loyal customers for many years are being ignored. Why can't we transfer the card or be sent a new card. Does anyone know of any places in London that could fix the existing box.

Re: Broken Sky HD box
So Sky+, being a legacy package, is no longer supported by Sky.
You can't now pair a viewing card to another Sky+ box that it wasn't paired to at the end of October 2024.
if you can't get it repaired she (I presume she's the account holder) can still call Sky to discuss options which will be upgrading to Sky Q or moving to Glass / Steam to continue to view Sky content through a Sky subscription.

Re: Broken Sky HD box
I don't know of any in London that specialise in Sky+ box repairs. You could try a local electronics repair shop to see if they can take a look. Alternatively you could try Digifix Limited (I have no connection with them, but they have an excellent reputation) who operate a national and international service. I suspect a power supply fault which I imagine can be repaired without affecting the pairing between the box and the Viewing Card - but I'd recommend checking with them first that the repair won't disrupt the pairing.

As previous stated they won't do that.

No: that ceased last year, because they'd really like the remaining few percent of customers still using what's effectively a twenty year old platform to move to something current.
