Sky Q Release 20

Sky Q Release 20

On Wednesday 13th July at 2am we rolled out Sky Q release 20. This update has two key updates. On the 27th July we pushed this release out to 1 million customers, so even more of you may be able to see the changes we've made and benefit from these updates.

Final release schedule dates are subject to change.

What's New?

The Sky Q Remote can now control your Sky Glass TV!

For those of you that've gone back to Sky Q, but decided to keep your Sky Glass TVs, the RCU code will be added to Sky Q. This means you can control the volume and the On/Off function of your Sky Glass TV. It might seem like a small change, but for customers that enjoy the big-screen experience of Glass, but the functionality of Q, it's a step in the right direction for those transitioning from one to the other.

Sign Language Flagging: BSL (British Sign Language) indicators on the TV guide

You can now highlight Sign Language Programming in the Sky Guide, similar to the way you can highlight Audio Description and Subtitles. This is down to the great work from the Accessibility team in ensuring that we continue to schedule releases that benefit customers with extra needs.

What's been fixed?

FIXED: When using the Global Player app, if listening to a podcast other content doesn't play.

FIXED: Apple TV+ app, takes longer to play after using FF/REW
