"Normal" startup sequence for puck?

Still getting used to my Sky Stream. When I power on my puck and tv (at the same time). The TV wil come up with a black screen with "Sky" in large white letters.

The light on the puck flashes for up to 45 seconds and then goes out - the TV says "lost connection".

If I press the power button (or the Home button) nothing happens until I have pressed it 3 or 4 times. Then it all comes to life.

Is this the normal sequence of events? All a bit frustrating and finger straining 🙂

Hi @TotalTOPS

The puck is designed to go in to standby and not be turned off at the wall. What you have described is the start up from 'cold'.

Once the sky logo disappears, it's still booting and will only respond once completed.

Hope this helps.

Re: "Normal" startup sequence for puck?

The black void while booting is consistent with how Sky products boot.... Sky+ HD did it🤔

@TotalTOPS In addition to the other 2 responses I would also turn ON Networked Standby Mode in the Settings > Start up & Standby menu as this will stop the puck losing the network when it goes into standby.  This resolved a similar issue I had 18 months ago with Sky Glass.  While you are in that menu why not also turn OFF the overnight power settings.

All I ever do is turn off the TV with my Stream remote and the puck will go into standby after a couple of minutes.   Both the TV and puck can then be turned on again by pressing the remote home button (also the power button).
