damaged remote

brought a stream puck and the remote for it doesn't work

Are you 100% sure that there are no pieces of paper stuck underneath the battery contacts?

When pulling out the tab to activate the paper can rip easily.

Take the back off, batteries out and check carefully,

yes i have checked it fully, nothing is in the way it doesn't work

You could also try holding the remote at both ends and giving it a gentle twist as though you were wringing out a cloth.  Even though it sounds an unlikely solution it has got many faulty remotes working again (including my own on 2 seperate occasions).

 

If none of the above help then I would request a replacement at the following link: Streaming TV replacement remote 

If you are lucky enough to still have one available you can use a Sky Q remote while you wait for a replacement to arrive.
