Re: Wi fi always buffering
Hi @Lukemchale and welcome to the forum.
One of the main reasons for buffering or freezing is the quality and speed of the WiFi signal being received at the Sky Puck and not that being received at the router. This can be checked with the Netflix App (Get help > Check network). The minimum speeds recommended by Sky are as follows:
HD = 25mbps
UHD = 30mbps
HD + 1 puck = 30mbps
UHD + 1 puck = 35mbps
These figures assume you don't have other devices using the Wi-Fi bandwidth.
The important thing with Wi-Fi is to have a stable signal as both Glass and Stream are susceptible to problems if there is any signal fluctuation or interference. For this reason an Ethernet connection is usually better than WiFi as it maintains better stability. If you try an Ethernet connection don’t forget to turn off WiFi in Settings / Network / Advance settings.
If this is not practical then you could consider Powerline Adapters which are about £40 on Amazon. Don’t waste money on a Gb model as Glass and Stream Ethernet ports only support 100mbps.

Re: Wi fi always buffering
Hi there,
Aside from the buffering problem with sky stream, giving us a bit more detail would allow us to help you better.
At this stage, going out and buying power line adaptors could just be a waste of money and will only add to a problem.
What is helpful, is to try and establish:-
- Broadband speed and stability
- WiFi speed/stability
Do a speed test
Do a file download speed test (1gb)
Other factors that are worth knowing is
Who's your isp?
How old is the equipment?
Are you using extenders?
Is your router in the same room?
How is streaming from other devices?
If the puck is fairly close to your router, then you could try using an ethernet lead (check the boxes see if you have one), this is suggested as we can quickly eliminate between a WiFi issue and a broadband issue.
You don't need to mess around with settings and turn off WiFi.

Having a good local network broadband reach is key to Sky Stream.
Not just broadband speed to your house and router, but for your local network supply via wifi or ethernet, that can be affected in a busy household.
Can you do a network speed test on each of your Pucks.
Launch Netflix on your pucks (you do not need to be logged into it, if you do not use netflix) and scroll down the left menu to Get help.
Choose Check Network.
Would suggest running the test a few times, say over a half hour period.
What is your speed?
Sky Stream with two pucks (former Sky Q and Sky+ customer).
Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Mobile unlimited data. Sky Protect smart tech kit tester.
