Watch from start without playing the show first

Hi, I'd like to watch the Chinese grand Prix today from the beginning. It is currently live and part way through. Is it possible to watch from start from the menu without first going into the showing? If I do that I basically get the entire thing spoiled for me. I know I can go into it then press watch from start but that sounds ridiculous for sport. There doesn't seem to be a clear option in the interface.

@Richaswr  There isn't an option to watch from Start without actually going into a live program, that is only possible on playlisted items.

Ah, it is actually a playlisted stream so I'll go check that out. Thanks.

It's not just me that thinks this is a bit silly I hope.

Actually, this doesn't appear to be possible from the playlist for the currently live stream.

Put the volume on mute and quickly turn the channel on then press watch from start ?

No, it's not possible, and a lot of the time it doesn't work on playlisted shows that you are trying to time shift live. Especially if you are paying for UHD and it insists on playing the HD version even though it tells you in the playlist that it's the UHD version...

Happens all the time with the darts for me, total nonsense that the answer is to mute, cover the screen with my hand while I wait for the start from beginning banner to appear.  And that's if it does actually appear.

I've said it before, but this is pure amateurism from Sky.

You'd think they were new to this game.

Just one of many, many reasons why I won't be renewing this half baked service come the end of the contract.

So in the end, I came away from the playlist and back into it a few times. Eventually, the button to watch from start appeared underneath it. 

Going into the thing just gives a ton away and then it's what we've been looking forward to all week spoilt.

I've come back to sky after years away and I'm not terribly impressed by Stream so far!

This was going to be my last resort but the F1 screen gives so much away. Hopefully I don't ever have to do that.

If I understand the problem correctly (and apologies if I don't), it is possible to use Watch from Start without loading the live stream first.

From your Favourites rail, highlight the programme you want to watch from start...

...or do the same from the full guide...

...then long press the Select button on your remote, rather than a short press...

...and you'll see a Restart button alongside the Watch Live button.
