Wanting to watch the F1 qualifying, I skipped to begin with just fine and was watching normally. However when I paused, and left it paused for around 10mins maximum, when I went to press play it keeps juttering and not continuously playing

This kind of thing can be glitchy. Try pausing it again briefly and see if it'll resume smoothly. If not you may have to watch on catch-up later.
