Volume issue - TV not supported

Just got sky stream and my sky remote won't control the volume or on/off so having to use the TV remote. I've looked at help pages and tried to connect the remote to my TV but it doesn't find my model of TV and says it's not supported. Is there anything else I can do?

It's a JVC, model LT-43CF810

I typed all that in but it couldn't find that particular model.

It had never heard of my Amazon Fire TV either (which seemed a bit remiss of it). I went through all the generic suggestions and didn't get one. Then went through some of the other manufacturers one by one and eventually found a match - LG I think it was. Works perfectly now.

It's really boring, but you might strike lucky.
