User Friendliness
My gran is 80 years old and a big football fan. She has recently moved into a care home and we got her sky stream. This isn't necessarily a sky stream problem but more a sky problem.
The user friendliness of sky for an 80 year old is just not good.
I have just spent 15 minutes talking over the phone for how she can get the Newcastle match on which is a red button match. Whilst this is an easy task for the younger generation, my gran really struggled.
Why is it a red button match in the first place? Why can't it be on 402 instead, there is no other live football on.
The remote is also not very user friendly, I was trying to get her to use the coloured button in the top right and because of how small they are, she couldn't work it out.
The big middle bit with select/ up down left right is also rubbish. Again, something simple and easily overlooked but there should be arrows and text on these rather than just buttons with nothing on.

Re: User Friendliness
Hi @JohnOak1
No one here can tell you why it's not on the main channels as we are fellow customers here on the community. There is an app if she's ok with a phone or tablet?
All the accessibility features are outlined here: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/accessibility-settings-sky-stream
But the honest answer is this is a mass market product typically aimed at a younger audience. However I do think sky should have an accessible remote for Stream as per their satellite products.
Another option could be something like a fire stick and now TV?

Re: User Friendliness
Thanks for your reply. I've just had a look at the sky accessibility remote for satellite and that would be perfect for her. I lost count the amount of times today I said press the okay button and she was like what's that. I know this sounds daft, but a button with select one it would be so much easier than just what's on the sky stream remote.
She is no good with a phone/tablet. She's had Sky all her life (loves sport) and that's the only reason she can keep with it with her mental decline at that age
I'm gonna print the instructions off for the remote and hang it on her wall which should help. But it's 2026 and I feel as though I shouldn't have to do this. An easier remote with actual text on would be better.
