Upgrade from Essentials to Ultimate advert on homescreen

Ever since returning to Sky Stream this August I permanently have an advert offering to upgrade me from Essentials to Ultimate for £3 a month, this appears in several places on the homescreen.

Yet when I click on one of the links the actual price is £14 to upgrade. Has anyone else had this?

Do Sky have an obligation to honour the advertised price?

I have phoned Sky customer services,  the advisor was nonplussed as to how this would happen and is unable to help as the offer doesn't show on his computer.

Hi @Headbanger74

I don't think anyone on the community can advise if sky are required to provide it at the advertised prices as we are not legal experts. However as with most things in life you will find a list of T&C's and it will specify who is eligible.

However from a customer service perspective the right thing to do would be to honour it. Maybe a complaint is needed: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

Online sources suggest that was a time-limited offer back in October.

That was a weeks free trial of Ultimate I think, this is slightly different in that I have had a permanent offer of a £3 upgrade since September, which it turns out costs a lot more than £3.

The final paragraph of the story reads 'And for those who fancy keeping the channels, they can upgrade to Sky Ultimate TV with the “lowest ever upgrade price” of only £3 extra a month.

Using that as a search term returns results from multiple online newspapers, which suggests it went out as a press release.

Apologies, I missed that.

I have had this showing prior to this offer and it's still there now.
