Turn on Sky stream to a satelite channel

It has bugged me that this is not possible. Its partly because I sometimes turn on my system from another room, and worry about screen burn with the relativley static home screen.

I use a flash universal remote with macros (I have a URC MX980, but Harmoney etc should do the same.)

The macro below seems pretty reliable and takes a puck that is on and sets it to c404.

Might be of help to someone ?

Re: Turn on Sky stream to a satelite channel

I mean like Sky HD used to, when powered on it goes to a channel rather than the home screen.

Hi @kdp99

You can not set steam to load a TV channel. You will always land on the home screen. However pressing left will show you recently viewed channels and center button will take you to it. Slightly quicker than going via TV guide or you can press the mic button and say go to channel x.

For reference Stream is not a satellite product, all content live and on demand is delivered by broadband / IPTV.

Re: Turn on Sky stream to a satelite channel

Using this macro takes you automatically from the home screen to a desired satellite channel, in this case 404

As stated they are IPTV channels not satellite. Your puck is not connected to a dish. As stated the functionality built in for those using sky glass / stream remote is pressing left and using recent.

That's actually rather clever: presumably the risk is that it can be broken at any point in the future by a UI change though.
