Trying to save money
I currently have Sky Ultimate, plus Sky Sports and TNT Sports. I have a lot of channels that I have zero interest in, so I am thinking of going onto Sky Essential with the two sports add-ons. Is this possible? All the info on the website is just trying to direct you to add more to your package, not take it away.

If you signed up to Ultimate TV on a 24 month contract then you've signed up for 24 months. Prices will increase a couple of times during that period too.
You can have Essential TV with the two sport add-ons but whether Sky will let you switch to that cheaper package would be at their discretion. You'd need to contact them directly and see what they could do.
If you signed up to the 31 day rolling contract then you should be able to switch easily to Essential TV at your next billing period.

Re: Trying to save money
Thank you for that. I'm coming to the end of my 24-month contract in November. I received a 'loyalty saver discount' offer email last week that basically stated I'd be going from paying £79 per month to over £100 per month if I didn't renew almost immediately. It's a lot of money when all I watch on TV is BBC, Channel 4, Sky Sports and TNT Sports, hence the quiery about downgrading to Essential

That 'discount' will only apply to your current Ultimate package but will only offer a small reduction on what would be the full list price for that package.
As you've technically already benefitted from a 24 month discounted period for Ultimate TV you won't be eligible for the same price again without a lot of negotiation. Similarly, switching to Essential from Ultimate may require a bit of negotiation with Sky as they would obviously prefer you to pay more for Ultimate than less for Essential.
Good luck!
