Trouble turning the puck on

About 60% of the time I try and turn the puck on with the remote (I use IR), it does not come on. I have to power cycle it. It seems mostly to happen when its been off overnight. The power cycle works but is a pain.

I tried changing the network power option, but its not fixed it. I also did the 'rebuild' once, when you power cycle it while holding the button on the bottom down, but that did not fix it.

I do use a universal IR remote and the HDMI goes to an HDMI 4 way powered  splitter, but I see no reason why this would cause an intermitend power on issue ?

Re: Trouble turning the puck on

@kdp99   I had a similar problem for quite a while after getting Stream. I rang Sky and they advised me to make sure my router had a clear line of sight to my puck and ensure the router was not close to  windows or mirrors and both the puck and the router did not have any objects next to them.  I made changes and not had a problem since.
You say you are using a universal remote but have you tried the Stream remote to double check that's not the problem?

Re: Trouble turning the puck on

Thanks for thr ideas, my puck is hardwired via a lan cable to my router so its not that. I doubt its the universal remote as it works 40% of the time and works perfectly with other devices and the puck when its on.

I will dig out the original and give it a try.

Thanks

Re: Trouble turning the puck on

I just had a play, and its the same with the original remote and my universal (glad about that).

Its a bit more complicated, the puck 'half turns on and gets stuck'

By this I mean when I press the power button the white light comes on the front of the puck, but the TV screen stays black, BUT the puck is sending a black screen, as I do not get the 'no signal being reveived on HDMI1' if the HDMI cable is unplugged. The puck will also not turn off when in this state with either the universal or original remote.

I currently have a free trial of 4K/Atmos, which expires shortly, and I will not take up and just wonder if its that.
