Switching from Sky Stream to Sky Q
So we're going to be moving in about 6 weeks from an apartment in London to a house in Oxfordshire.
Currently I have 3 x Sky Stream pucks in the apartment as the communal dish won't support Sky Q but tbh, we've never really got on with it.
We only switched from Q to Stream in the first place because of the set up challenges in the development and have managed to get a decent stream only by connecting the pucks via Ethernet.
With the move out of London we want to make the switch back to Q - question is, how easy is it to do that and does anyone have an idea of the lead time involved ? I've seen from a Google search something about Sky needing to cease the streaming contract before being able to set up the Q contract - is this true ?
Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks !

Re: Switching from Sky Stream to Sky Q
I reckon your best bet is to put in your 31 days notice for cancellation of Stream then wait until you've moved. By this stage Sky will most likely be in touch with a 'come back' type email or phone call, or you can call them. Explain that you don't have sufficient broadband speed at your new address for Stream but would like Sky Q and negotiate from there. Deals on Q are harder to come by these days because Sky want everyone on streaming, but if you get a decent customer services adviser you might get lucky.
Whilst you are between services (once Stream switches off) you can always sign up to NOW TV for any Sky content. They now offer UHD/HDR & Atmos so you don't miss out on any quality.
Also worth noting that there are far fewer Sky Q installers around so you may have to wait a few weeks for dish and cabling installation if there isn't already some in place at your new address. It varies depending on location so you'd need to check beforehand. Try doing a dummy 'new customer' order on the website, using your new address and see what dates it offers for installation. That'll give you some idea of the lead time.

Re: Switching from Sky Stream to Sky Q
I would make sure you do give enough space between cancelling and ordering again as the Sky in my own experience have been in the end utterly incompident. They could not have messed a simple home move and switch from Q to Glass anymore even if they tried - and woe unto thou who ends up not getting through to one of the few UK based call centers. You will then be doomed to listen to 1000 apologies and promises to "fix everything for you Sir" only to have everything messed up. I am personally kind of relieved to have cancelled the whole package without any penalites on any remaining contract. Too much hassle and the outsourced call centers are woeful and that is being kind.
