I do not have access to openreach broadband. Thus I need to use Stream.
However when I fill in the sky forms, doubt is cast as to whether I would receive a good enough signal to receive sky sports uhd.

You do not need openreach broadband to get Sky Stream. You can use any broadband provider, including Virgin. You just need a minimum speed of 25Mbps for a single Stream puck in HD and 30Mbps for UHD but preferably a lot more for stability.
