Switch from stream to Q

Hi, not sure if this is the correct place or not, sorry if it's not. I have Sky Steam whole home, I'd like to switch over to Sky Q. I have 3 active contracts, Sky Ultimate TV ending on 31/12/2026, Sky Sports & Sky Cinema both ending on 17/01/2027. If I switch will I be expected to pay off the remainder of the contracts or is it something that they can transfer over to the new Sky Q subscription? Will I also be expected to pay a cancellation / admin fee? Thanks in advance

Hi @T5-Jay

You will need to call sky we are fellow customers on the community. However given that you are swapping to another sky product, it's likely they will be able to terminate your existing contract and provide you with one for Q. However sky will need to confirm this, technically you are in a contact.

Just so you know Sky Q has stopped being sold online, but is still being offered via Sky's contact centre. It's likely that the product will be phased out due due to end of life of the satellites circa 2030.

Re: Switch from stream to Q

I am not why you want to change to Sky Q but If you have good picture with no problems with you Sky stream set up, I think you will find it very difficult to persuade Sky to switch you to Sky Q. If they did and you got discounts as a new customer when you subscribed to Sky stream, you will problerly lose them  if they allowed you to switch and they would probably charge you the full price with no discounts on two year contract.  ( That's what I got offered when I made enquiry's to change to stream with my contract on Q still having 12 months to run) That will probably be lot moreexpencive  than you are already paying on stream. I have the full package on Sky Q and get some small discounts as exsisting customer for many years and I pay £157 per month on a two year contract. Also Sky Q is a old system with a limited life of about 4years maximum, so if you did change in the end  and wanted to stay with sky youwould eventually be move back to Sky stream anyway, like we will all SkyQ customers will be.
