Software update

Sky stream box - we got ours in July and was working okay up until today when all of a sudden it asked us to scan a QR code or visit the website to "contact them" about the new software update usually these updates are done overnight but today it decided to do one during the day (strange) this new update took 7 hours to complete I followed all the steps and was told by customer services to leave the box on for an hour then try unplugging it to then plug it back in. 

Has anyone else had this problem with the sky stream and has anyone else done the new software update

Sounds odd.

Not aware of any QR code that starts off or actions a software update method for Sky Stream?

 

Can you provide more detail of what the QR code was actually referencing and where the link directed you to?
