Sly Stream and Ethernet
Connected to ethernet (ethernet plug into an electrical outlet) since setup for a few months. Yesterday (21st June) I received a technical error message and was unable to watch TV.
Disconnected ethernet and connected to Wi-Fi and it worked. Id prefer to connect via Ethernet but is there any reason it would have stopped working?

Re: Sly Stream and Ethernet
It sounds like an issue with your Power line adapters rather than the box. You could try rebooting those by power cycling them

Re: Sly Stream and Ethernet
Yeah tried that but no joy.
I didn't power cycle the router however but just wondered if it was something to do with the Sky router or allocation of IP as my wi-fi is Google.

Re: Sly Stream and Ethernet
Stream should work with an router/isp. Have you tried connecting via ethernet directly to the router?

Re: Sly Stream and Ethernet
No mate, the puck is some distance away from the router.
It's been working fine since install for 2 months. I suspect it was the Ethernet plug but power cycled - maybe a glitch with the internal wiring of the electrics in the house?

Re: Sly Stream and Ethernet
I wouldn't have thought an electrical issue would suddenly arise, especially one that only affects your Power line adapters. I'd try connecting the Puck directly to your router temporarily just to run a test so that you can rule out a ethernet issue with the router.

Re: Sly Stream and Ethernet
@Scottydog76 I have used various powerline adapters for years. They are great when they work but they can suddenly stop for no apparent reason. Leaving them unplugged for a while has worked for me in the past as has oddly switching the different wall socket. Of course dont use trailing adapters if at all possible.
