I've just got Sky Stream today. Followed a very simple set up and settle down to watch sky sports Premier League. It was completely unwatchable and I gave up after only a few minutes. I went onto the Netflix app to check the network speed and it was running at around 3.5 Mb per second.
I then went onto Netflix which is built-in to my smart TV and checked the network speed which was running at 78 Mb per second. I have tried restarting the puck and also connecting wirelessly and via an ethernet cable, but the streaming speed still remains woefully slow rendering the programs completely unwatchable, especially in UHD.
My current Internet speed on iPad, phones and any other wirelessly connected devices is still well above 50 Mb per second and anything connected via Ethernet is running at 90-100Mb per second.
Id be hugely grateful if anyone could offer a solution or even just a suggestion as to how this problem might be solved, or is it that, as I suspect, the puck is a cheap and nasty piece of hardware that I am destined to return to Sky and revert back to Freesat.

When you changed to ethernet you need to disable the WiFi in the advanced settings in Networks, for some reason Stream / Glass have a habit of occasionally still using WiFi.
Also worth turning off at the socket, wait a min then back on.
Once done try the Netflix test on Stream and hopefully you'll see better speed.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim
Thanks for your reply. Sadly your suggestion hasn't changed anything. The sky puck is running at 3.7 Mb per second with a wired connection albeit via a smart plug, whereas the TV is running at 94 Mb per second with a wireless connection.
Thought I would try the puck on a wireless connection, given the rapid speed achieved by the TV, but it won't even connect to the router. It did connect earlier and the speed went up to a blistering 5 Mb per second!
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Rob

Sadly the hardware really lets the Stream experience down. You may have a dodgy puck (or a weird compatibility issue with your broadband) but I'm constantly disappointed by how poor it all is.

The only other thing to suggest is the smart plug is not functioning correctly. Can you connect the tv to the smart plug via ethernet then check your netflix speed then to see what you get ?

Well buggered if I know why but connected it directly to router and streamed at 89mbs. Unplugged and checked wirelessly and was running at 40mbs. Did it again tonight and wireless speeds are 80-90mbs.
A mystery with a happy ending.🤷🏻♂️

Spoke too soon. Still streaming at North of 50mbs but Sky Sports Main Event on UHD keeps freezing and sound dropping out. Any theories as to why this might be?
Currently watching BBC News and no issues...but obviously didn't need to subscribe to Sky to watch BBC! 😡🤬
