Sky streaming - poor quality

Is the picture quality on sky streaming always so bad??

Every evening I'm going through the processes trying to make it watchable.  The picture is unclear, stops and starts and is generally awful!

I'm asking if this is normal?

Hi @MG35

What broadband speed do you have and what speed is your glass getting? You can check this in Netflix. (Profile pic > get help? > Connectivity check).

It sounds like poor connection. I've got 2 Glass TVs and 4 pucks working flawlessly.

Re: Sky streaming - poor quality

After reading all the problems with streaming, ThenSky Q box is a state of the art product

Unable to  watch BBC News and others without finding the IPlayer app,, Q box 101 BBC1 News old fashioned magic !

Also predictably streaming pictures , lost  Q programs when you switch

it would seam it's No Brainer  , sick with Q box as long as possible !

Re: Sky streaming - poor quality

Hi, I have Gigafast broadband, Download speed current 124 mpps; I don't have Sky Glass but a Samsung 4k TV; I've now submitted a complaint to Sky as connection is awful and the service is not fit for use.

If you are unable to get a satisfactory service from the Stream service, I suggest you explore your exit strategy. If you are within the contract cooling off period of 31 days, I would use that.

For the time I had Stream, I had no issues with picture quality, it was very good. Having said this I left Stream for Now TV because of price and while the Now UI is not as good as Stream, I can live with an inferior UI because of the price I currently pay viz. £31 pm.

Former Sky HD+, Q and Stream customer
Now TV Sports + Entertainment + Cinema + Ultra Boost @ £31 pm (till October 2026)
Freesat 4K recorder
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + + RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
