Sky stream use case concerns
Hi, so I'm a long time Sky Q subscriber. Primary reason I still have Sky Q is I watch a lot of F1 and am probably one of the few remaining with the free F1 channel..., However often I will start watching the qualifying or race after it has started (anything from a few minutes in up to right at the end of the day), but always on the same day. Obviously this works because with Sky Q I have it on series link record and so can jump in whenever I please and watch from the start.
Another event I watch is the BTCC on ITV4. Again, I record this as this is typically a single 8 hour long programme, and then I'll watch the races I'm interested in within that recording in the evening, by fast forwarding through the hours I don't care about (including obviously the ads). This is a doddle on sky Q.
My question is does my use case fit Sky Stream at all?
My fears are:
1. The playlist functionality not allowing me to dive into watching an F1 race a few minutes late and being forced to wait until whenever they bother to make the stream available, which I'm guessing isn't any time soon after a race finishes.
2. How does the "watch from start" feature work? Do I have to actually start watching half through a race, in order for the watch from start popup to appear? This would be a massive deal breaker. The risk of seeing something that ruins my enjoyment before getting the "watch from start" option, I would not be happy about.
3. With the BTCC being on ITV. Does that mean my playlist will just be a pointer into the ITV X app? Does the ad skipping work well enough? Is the app stable enough that I can sensibly fast forward through an 8 hour stream without it crashing or having to sit there forever waiting for it to skip to the points I care about?
Everything I've read seems that Sky Stream would be a massive downgrade to my viewing experience. Can anyone convince me otherwise?
