Sky stream unwatchable

Just signed up to sky stream and broadband. The router is about 20 feet away. WiFi speed to my phone is ok. To the tv the speed frequently goes down to 1-2 mbps particularly after 4 pm making anything unwatchable due to pausing and sound cutting out. 
Pretty sure we need to cancel our subscription and go back to another provider where we had no issues unless there's an easy solution

What you phone needs is different to what a puck needs, the stream must be FAST and STABLE.

1-2 mbps will not cut it, you need a minimum of around 7 mbps for HD and double that for UHD.

What is your incoming internet speed?

You need to check for WiFi interference, split the router SSIDs and try the other band or or connect with an ethernet cable.
