Sky stream movie buffering
I have recently bought Sky stream. Tried to watch "Wicked"
last night and it buffered every 9 seconds on the TV. When I watched it through my iPad on Sky go the movie played fine. Why does it buffer on the TV?

Sky Go streams a much lower resolution file so needs less bandwidth.
Sky Stream streams a higher resolution version in either full HD or UHD and requires you to have a faster broadband connection that is stable.
What speed does your puck get?

Re: Sky stream movie buffering
Hi @Sar68
Because there is poor connectivity between your puck and router. Ensure that it's not enclosed. You need 25Mbps for HD and 30Mbps for UHD.
You can check the speeds you get on your puck in netflix. (profile pic > get help? > Connectivity check).

Re: Sky stream movie buffering
Hi @Sar68 and welcome to the forum.
One of the main reasons for freezing is the quality and speed of the Wi-Fi signal being received at the TV/puck and not that being received at the router. This can be checked with the Netflix App (Get help > Check network) and is often much less than you might expect. The minimum speeds recommended by Sky are as follows:
HD = 25mbps
UHD = 30mbps
HD + 1 puck = 30mbps
UHD + 1 puck = 35mbps
These speeds assume there is nothing else in your home using up your WiFi bandwidth.
If your speed at the TV is borderline try connecting via Ethernet cable. If this is not practical you can use powerline adapters (about £40 at Amazon). Note the Ethernet port on the Glass TV (& pucks) only supports 100mbps so don't waste money on the more expensive 1gb powerline adapters

Your broadband network or Sky's servers might have been congested last night. That's often the cause of buffering.
