Sky renote control isnt flashing when using it

I tried connecting the remote to control the volume and its not working properly it did flash red before but I've now messed it  up when trying to control the volume volume was working but I can't use the mute button it works with out the red light flashing but it was there before

The remote can be reset and paired again following these steps;

Press and hold 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds.

Press and hold 4 and 6 together for three seconds.

Press and hold 1 and 3 together for three seconds and follow the on-screen instructions.
