Sky puck streaming problems persist

It seems that in late August, Sky prematurely declared success in solving the problem of Sky pucks freezing, or displaying a blank screen.

Sadly, I am having the same problems on both of our pucks. I'm paying the hefty multi room subscription, but haven't yet managed to watch a complete program without restarting the puck.

Based on the previous threads, I have:

- confirmed a wi-fi speed of 142 Mbps (by using the  Netflix app)

- refreshed the puck through Settings > System management > Reset & Updates

- rebooted the main wi-fi router (with pucks switched off).

Hard believe I could have 2 defective pucks, so before asking Sky to replace them, are there any other solutions?

Re: Sky puck streaming problems persist

Hey,

  • Have you tried switching the tv to the Sky pucks HDMI input (via the tv remote)?
  • using the remote for the skybox, push the power button does the pucks led go on/off?
  • if above doesnt work, try the power button on the skybox
  • on both of your TV's, make sure the pucks are in the same hdmi input (tv1 hdmi 1, tv2 hdmi 1 etc)
  • after above, turn off tv and pucks (unplug both tv and puck is best)
  • you can also try disconecting other hdmi equipment whilst your doing this stuff
  • you can also turn off hdmi-cec temporarily as this will prevent auto switching
  • the only other thing i am wondering is, is there anything else going on round the time this happens?
  • how is the puck powered? usb or official power adaptor?

I had noticed with multiple pucks in the same house, pressing the home button on the remote would take you to the wrong hdmi input. but that input was being used by the other puck on the other tv ~ not sure if that makes sense but it happened.

after i changed to same inputs it never happened again.

sharing as, it can give the apperance that the puck has frozen/died.
