Re: Sky Stream puck is awful

My connection to the router is via cat 6 ethernet and it still shows a throughput of 35.8 Mbps. An unstable broadband would surely affect the other devices I use, such as the Apple 4k tv box. If the puck continues to annoy me I shall request a replacement but I suspect the issue is related to component quality. Not faulty assembly.

The fact your getting up to 500Mbps to your i-pad via wi-fi, and only 35Mbps to the Stream box means there is an issue somewhere (I get 90 Mbps wired). Out of interest have you tried wi-fi instead of a wired connection?

If 35.8 Mbps is adequate for the service, why does the puck have to be reset so frequently? Just asking.....

That sounds wrong with your speed on Ethernet from your 900Mbps start point.

You should be getting somewhere between 75-80 Mbps on Ethernet.

The 100Mbps it outputs gtenrellay will be 90Mbps or a little less.

But a busy household can still bring that down a touch.

Would not expect it to be in the 30s though.

Some possible suggestions:

Is your ethernet connected direct from your Puck to your broadband router.

Or is it going through an unmanaged switch, which can sometimes cause dropout issues or a lower delivery.

Might also, be worth trying another ethernet cable, they do occasionally go wrong or of a poor spec that can cause such delivery issues.

issues.
