Sky Stream Audio Issue on PIN protected channels

I’m seeing a repeatable audio issue with Sky Stream that only affects channels requiring a PIN.

 

When tuning to a channel that needs the PIN, there is no audio at all. Channels that do not require a PIN work perfectly every time. Flicking between TV and Soundbar audio output does not resolve the problem.

 

Sometimes, if I flick back and forth between channels, the audio will eventually start working on the PIN protected channel, but it can take multiple attempts and is very inconsistent.

 

Setup details:

• TV: Sony Bravia XR-55A95L

• Soundbar: Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 8

• TV and soundbar connected via eARC

• eARC cable is HDMI 2.2

• Sky Stream Puck connected directly to the TV using an HDMI 2.1 cable

 

When the issue occurs, the Bravia audio app reports that no audio stream is being detected by either the TV or the soundbar.

 

I’ve tried multiple HDMI cable combinations and different ports, including swapping cables entirely, but the problem persists.

 

There have never been any similar audio issues with other devices connected to the same setup, including a PS5 and a Blu-ray player. Audio works flawlessly with those.

 

This seems very specifically tied to Sky Stream and PIN protected channels.

 

Posting to see if others are experiencing the same thing or if Sky are aware of it.
