Sky F1 fails - part 3

Another vent, all I want to do is watch my favourite sport (F1), but Sky make this very difficult (see my  part 1 and part 2).

So I didn't catch the live Canadian GP qualifying last night, and decided a nice Father's Day treat would be to watch it on Sunday morning. Open the Sky Sports area of my Sky TV package - first thing that comes up is X steals pole! Well that's an annoying spoiler but I continue to watch it.

As I start to watch it, the advert time is set to 25 minutes! So after the ads finish and I'm watching discussion on F1 but I can't FF (I'm not paying more to lose the ads, Sky Sports is hardly. cheap). I pause it after 25mins (breakfast brought to me). I press play... back to the start, another 25minutes of ads which means before I can FF to the actuall qualifying I need to watch about 20 mins of ads and watch the same 15mins of talking twice!!!! 50 minutes in before seeing an F1 car, and a spoiler on who's pole.

in comparison (I didn't get as far as 50 mins), I moved onto 4 player and loaded the qualifying in no time at all. Watched it on 4-player instead as it was easier.

I do think this is the final straw, I keep holding on hoping it will improve but it's so frustrating, more often than not if I want to watch the F1 on Sky I hit some weird problem. Reverting to the free service because the paid service is not working for me

F1 fails - part 4 - another glitch!!!!

Back to my weekly update on how poor the Sky Stream service is with F1.

Try to watch the Austrian F1 qualifying on catch up via the F1 button in the sports page..

After fast forwarding 12 minutes of the F2 race, and being able to FF the ads (this worried me), I had to stop and watch an interview for 4 minutes while it thought it was the ads. Then at 36 minutes, just as we arrive at the start of qualifying with 1hr30 still remaining on screen, black screen. Crash. Won't let me play, won't let me FF.

I can rewind, and it makes me watch the ads again??? But I can't watch anything after 36minutes so I can't watch the qualifying.

4player is my saviour 2 weeks in a row!

This is a total joke of a service...

@MrMCD Why aren't you adding these events to your Playlist beforehand rather than relying on the Catch Up service?

it's very poor, when you pay for a service then you expect it to work. Just my opinion.

Re: Sky F1 fails - part 3

I do have them on my playlist... These glitches happen whether I.start the program from my playlist or from the Sky sports area (where I can select live or catch up).

it's quite a similar view, I use whichever is quickest to get to and have issues on both.

I'm a Sky stream customer, (former skyQ), and skyQ was awesome, I used to record every race/qualy. Since moving to stream, it's a lottery if I can watch what I want to watch at all.

It's strange as I've not experienced these issues watching the F1.

Thought the same.

All this season and last, I have playlisted all the F1 sessions; practice, qualy, sprint and the three main race programmes.

Plus have playlisted the Porsche Cup, F2 and F3 practice, qualy and races.

Also playlist Ted notebook.

All cloud recording for playback without any issues and stay in my Playlist for the season.

After a few weeks, the cloud recordings change to the On demand full programme.

Also do the same in the F1 channel for all the dual Indycar series. No issues there either.
