1) I changed batteries in remote and on screen message required me to sync remote with tv - done.

2) now the remote does not activate any channel/ stream programmes only live channels.

To clarify by "channel/ stream programmes" do you mean apps like iPlayer, ITVX etc.?

Have you tried restarting the device?
