@Kayley1 you need to program the remote to operate your particular TV before it can switch it on and off or control the volume. Go yo Settings, scroll down to connected devices press the tile for the remote and then Control your TV and folow the on-screen instructions. Ideally you will know the make and model of the TV but if you dont or if you TV isnt listed try the Find it for me option.
