Recording on Sky Stream available but randomly?

I know you can't record in the traditional sense on Sky Stream, so how come I was able to literally record Free Guy on Channel 4 last night? Rather than Save To Watchlist, I actually had Record as an option!

Also, how come I have multiple recordings listed below Watchlist on My Library, including last night's film but Aldo random other things?

please make it make sense!

It's all to do with Sky re-introducing the word 'recording' back into the terminology of SkyOS.

Some content on some channels will be 'recorded', or rather a saved section of the broadcast stream, will be available to you to stream as if it was a recording, but played back from Sky's servers.

In the case of Free Guy - it was showing in the E4 channel but is also available via Disney+. Since Sky have a deal in place with Disney, it allowed you to 'record' the E4 broadcast. Obviously, if you have a Disney+ Premium subscription it would be much better to watch via the Disney+ app because then you'd get it at the correct frame rate and in 4K with Dolby Vision/HDR without ads. The E4 'recording' is sped up from 24 to 25fps and in HD-only and will have ad breaks.
