my puck won't link to my account and takes a very long time to try and link - i have tried the factory reset but it's been 16 hours and everytime i plug and unplug it still goes into the reset mode flashing red amber green does it take a while or is this box faulty ?

Sounds faulty. Give Sky a ring for further troubleshooting and they will arrange for a replacement puck if needed.
