Puck plug too big
Evening, I've had my tv and puck socket put up high behind the tv on the wall on a newly plastered wall, only to find that the plug is far too deep to fit behind the tv!!! Any ideas if sky can provide a flat puck plug or I can purchase one???

Re: Puck plug too big
Hi @Sandie1968
This has been asked before. Sky so not supply any other plug other than the one already supplied. One solution could be to plug the stream box in somewhere else and use a longer HDMI cable.
In theory there other other power supplies that match the rating of that supplied by sky, but as this is skys kit and loaned to you, Sky wouldn't sanction any such use and you would be liable for any damage using a non supplied plug.

Re: Puck plug too big
@Sandie1968 although your proposed set up is neat hiding a puck behind a wall mounted TV is not a good idea unless you are using an ethernet cable. The pucks operate far better when out in the open connected by a HDMI lead if using WiFi.

Re: Puck plug too big
You'll find this discussed in previous posts, but as all pucks distributed since 23rd February 2023 are on loan from Sky, the official answer has to be that only the Sky power supply should be used with those.
For customer-owned pucks or those legitimately purchased second-hand, a compatible USB to barrel jack cable and a suitably rated USB power supply may be a solution, although some posts suggest this isn't reliable during firmware updates.

Re: Puck plug too big
Haven't Sky received enough feedback about the poor design of their power supply .... to address the issue🤔

Re: Puck plug too big
Possibly, but all the existing stock will have the current version.
What might sway them for future models is the EU pushing manufacturers to have USB-C at the device end.

Re: Puck plug too big
Perhaps interesting to note that the Sky Max Hub has USB-C power, albeit from a very chunky plug.
