Old Version Puck

 How come I have just taken out a brand new subscription and been supplied with the old type puck ?

There's a manufacturing revision with a different power supply plug, but it's not a second generation release and Sky won't treat it as such: they'll recirculate refurbished hardware originally supplied from February 2023 onwards (which is when pucks moved from sale to loan)

@Cade2  You get what is in stock, there is no way for any CSA to dictate which puck gets sent, as they are only loaned to yiou then you're not guaranteed a new version.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Big black plug = v1 puck

Small grey plug = v1B puck

 

Customers report the 1B as being better at coping with live UHD sport. Beyond that, there's allegedly no difference between the two.
